DAUDET GRAZAI
Daudet Grazai trained in the famous King Bok school in Aberjan Ivory Coast perfecting traditional dance, percussion and acting ski!ls. He was invited to the Ecole des Sables by Germaine Acogny in Senegal on three different occasions. He came to Belgium to work with Bud Blumenthal in the duo Groundscape in 2003 and participated in Les Reflets d’Ulysse in 2004. Since he has worked extensively through France and Europe with companies such as George Momboi and is presently in Thierry Smit’s “For the Ones I Love”.
ISSIAKA SANOU
Issiaka Sanou is a percussionist from Burkina Faso. He has been gaining his drumming knowledge with world known African musicians from when he was a child. He played with bands Dioulasso Ba Percussion and Djeliya. The latter played numerous concerts all over Burkina Faso and in 2000 performed in an international festival in Germany and at the National Week of Culture in Burkina Faso. He also worked with acknowledged masters of traditional African rhytms such as Adama Dramé, Zoumana Dembélé, Seydou Dao, Harouna Dembélé and others.In 2008 Issiaka moved to Slovenia. Since, he has been actively involved with Baobab Society for Culture and Arts as a musician, co-author of several projects, drumming classes’ teacher and musical coach for African dance classes and Baobab Dance Company.
Issiaka worked with Igor Leonardi, Matjaž Stošič, Damir Mazrek and numerous other musicians and each year takes various projects to Baofest, Lent and Trnfest festivals.He is the creative director of Farafinslo percussion band with whom he performs all across Slovenia.
LEA MENARD
Independent dancer, actress and puppeteer is lately turning her career into doing project such as animations and perfomancess for children.
On Wednesday 27th of March in Linhart hall at Cankarjev dom in Ljubljana you can attend performance Dia Diasso Diasspora – a unique mixture of African culture and the expression of modern music and dance by Maša Kagao Knez. The piece stems from personal stories and experience of its international cast of collaborative authors of whom all are in their own way linked to Africa and source their work from African culture
