The purpose of this class is to improve body fitness and as such it is appropriate both for beginners and experienced dancers. The emphasis is on increasing one’s endurance, flexibility, awareness and control of the body as well as on sustaining and correctly performing the basic movements of African dances.
Beginners will get acquainted with the elements of African dances and learn the correct dance posture, gain fitness and flexibility. The class offers a good base for further or simultaneously attended other dance education.
Experienced dancers will deepen their body awareness and be able to check the accuracy of performing their moves as well as maintain and improve their fitness and flexibility.
Afro-pulse can be a stand-alone class or serve as an additional class to complement any other dance education as it provides a good base for beginners’ but is also useful build-on to more advanced classes.
