World Without Borders: Africa Day in Maribor

On 25^th of May 1963, the Organization of African Unity was established in the capital of Ethiopia, Adis Abeba (in 2002 replaced with African Union). This day is celebrated in various African countries and around the world as a symbol of African unity and freedom. We will recognize and celebrate this great day and what it stands for also in Maribor.

There are quite few African women and men, our descendants and family members in Maribor, as well as others who like to socialize with us and get to know our culture. You are all invited to the event Africa Day in Maribor, join us at the joyful courtyard in Vetrinjski dvor.

Experience stories, songs, dances, music, food and drinks tasting, as well as a hairdresser & barber corner – it is going to be loud and cheerful and memorable Saturday!

The event is organized by the Baobab Arts and Culture Association in cooperation with the Institutes MARS Maribor and Most povezave Evropa-Afrika Ptuj.

The event is included in the Week of amateur culture and in the Week of lifelong learning (coordinated by Andragoški zavod Maribor)
